When recruiting using traditional recruitment techniques you should consider collecting a wider set of characteristics and data for recruitment profiles beyond those which you may have traditionally used e.g., age, gender, social class and geography. Add to your recruitment profiles characteristics such as ethnicity, sexual identity, sexual orientation, physical disabilities and/or mental health conditions.
When you are targeting specific characteristics consider approaching local community or charity groups e.g., if you are aiming to recruit disabled participants approach local hospitals, patient groups, health charities and disabled help groups which represent individuals with the kinds of health conditions you are seeking.
